MIAMI, FLORIDA: A Florida man has been accused of killing his wife in a brutal attack that involved biting and shooting her through a bathroom door while their daughter witnessed the horror and dialed 911.

The incident occurred on Sunday, September 10, at around 12.45 am at a mobile home at Royal Duke Mobile Home Park, a commercial area  in Miami, where Alberto Molinet, 70, lived with his wife and their minor child.

What transpired before Alberto Molinet killed his wife?

According to the arrest form as reported by WSVN, Molinet and his wife got into a heated verbal argument.

The argument escalated when Molinet grabbed an unloaded gun from a safe in the living room and pointed it at her.

He pulled the trigger and "dry-fired" the weapon to his wife first. It caused her to run to the bathroom to hide.

Her wife, who hasn't been named yet, then locked the door of the bathroom in an unsuccessful attempt to hide from her husband.

How did Alberto Molinet kill his wife?

As his wife hid in the bathroom, Molinet did not give up and in a fit of rage, he loaded the gun and followed her to the bathroom.

On finding the door locked, he shot through the door. His wife, fearing for her life, tried to fight back and pushed Molinet away so as to prevent herself from getting shot.

This further enraged the husband who resorted to more violence and bit her before discharging another fatal gunshot into her body, making her collapse as she bled, the report stated.

Who told the oolice about the incident?

The report said that their minor daughter witnessed everything in front of her eyes and then dialled 911 to report the shooting.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, as per NBC 6, responded to the shooting and pronounced the victim dead at the scene after 1 am.

The Miami-Dade Police Department's Homicide investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Detectives seized the gun from Molinet and arrested him at about 8.45 am.

Molinet, who is about six feet tall, appeared in court on Monday. He was charged with second-degree murder using a weapon.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Zachary N James is presiding over the case, as per Local 10.
