MIAMI, FLORIDA: Authorities apprehended a man on Saturday night, August 13, following a stabbing incident in downtown Miami.

Richard Jin, 34, was slapped with several charges, including attempted felony murder, criminal mischief, and robbery. The incident took place at approximately 7.35 pm at Bayside Marketplace.

According to the local police department, officers responded to the area immediately after they received reports regarding a woman who was stabbed in the arm and leg. The witnesses claimed that the attack stemmed from an argument.

Who is Richard Jin?

As per Local 10 News, a group of women claimed that the Jin was speaking to them inappropriately and the verbal altercation quickly escalated which triggered the suspect eventually to attack one of them.

Jin then ran off but police officers were able to apprehend him at the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science which is located less than a mile north of Bayside Marketplace along Biscayne Boulevard.

The suspect's bond was set at $17,500.

Traces of blood were seen outside one of the clothing stores in the shopping center on Sunday afternoon.

Florida man loses his life while defending his best friend

Meaww previously reported that a Florida man died after he and his best friend were attacked by another man carrying a knife on Sunday, August 6.

According to NBC affiliate WTLV, Jolene Bowlus and her best friend, James Hoffman, were eating dinner on her porch at Pickett Street and Edgewood Avenue when a young man approached them.

Bowlus said, "He asked me if I knew this girl named Pam. I said 'no,' He said 'you're a liar' and he went bam, next thing I know I was lying on the ground."

Bowlus was knocked out for a moment and when she gained conciousness, Hoffman was being stabbed as he had jumped to her defense.

"My little dog was barking, so he picked her up and killed her," said Bowlus about the knife-wielding assailant. Bowlus ran away and rang for assistance.

She claimed that without the help of her best friend, Hoffman, she would not have survived. "He's a hero," Bowlus said. He died a hero."

The suspect was killed when he disobeyed an officer who responded to the 911 call, according to a press conference by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
