Florida man abducted and raped DoorDash driver earlier this year

Meaww previously reported that a DoorDash driver was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted in Florida by Joseph Killins who opened fire on her family when they arrived to save her.

Killins, 38, was arrested on Saturday, April 22, in connection with the incident involving the Hispanic female delivery worker in Tampa on Tuesday, April 18.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday (April 18) night at about 11 pm as the Hispanic woman in her early 20s was attempting to deliver food to a hotel on West Boy Scout Boulevard.

The police press release stated, "While walking up to the hotel to make the delivery, the victim was approached by a Black male armed with a gun. He forced her back into her car."

The victim was wearing AirPods and was talking on the phone to her girlfriend at the time.

Her family alerted the police when they realized a robbery was taking place and policemen were dispatched to the hotel.

Police claimed that the suspect compelled the victim to travel roughly seven miles to the Belara Lakes Apartments, the scene of the assault.

The victim's family found the apartment building after tracking her phone. Police say they were able to rescue her from the car.

A family member of the victim's girlfriend was hit by the suspect's first round of fire before he fled the scene.

Police, in a press release, stated that the injured party and the victim both received non-life-threatening medical attention.
