FLINT, MICHIGAN: A 26-year-old Flint woman has been arrested in relation to a dead fetus that was discovered on a sidewalk. Flint authorities have reported that on April 18 at approximately 11 pm, law enforcement officers were summoned to the 1800 block of South Dort Highway after someone informed them of a dead fetus they discovered while passing by.

The informant led police to the spot where a male fetus was lying on the sidewalk. The fetus's gestational age was evaluated by a medical examiner and determined to be around 20-23 weeks, as reported by CafeMom. After conducting an investigation, law enforcement officials identified the 26-year-old female who had been pregnant. The officers reached out to the woman and transported her to a nearby hospital for medical care. After her release from the hospital, police apprehended the woman, and the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office is presently examining the case to determine the charges.

The community expressed empathy following the disturbing incident

The occurrence has caused turmoil in the community, but a large number of individuals have shown compassion. Following the incident, numerous Flint residents have taken to the Flint Police Department Facebook page to express their sentiments.

'I do believe that's a miscarriage'

"I'm confused on why people aren't upset that she left a baby just laying around? Rather it was a miscarriage or abortion or birth.. that little boy is still a person. Never should that little guy have to be placed just anywhere... I've never lost baby before but I know I'd still love him/her if I did," one person commented. "Geeze sure she should have went to the hospital but I do believe that's a miscarriage. Why arrest her? I don't think any of us have enough information to judge. Rip," someone else wrote. "Prayers for healing to the person who found this poor child and the woman involved. I cannot imagine the circumstances," another comment reads while someone else wrote, "The fetus was not viable at that age. No one here knows the circumstances or facts about this case. Don't judge. Pray."
