'Seeking Sister Wife': Did Vanessa Cobbs leave Dimitri and Ashley Snowden over talks of a third sister wife?
It's no secret, marriage requires work and effort. After all, it's two people spending their lives together (hopefully). So, we can only imagine just how much energy a polygamous marriage takes - after all, you don't have to take into account just one person's happiness and well-being, but multiple. And as with most marriages, there are bound to be differences at some point - it's only natural.
So, when Vanessa Cobbs, Dimitri and Ashley Snowden hit a snag in their polygamous marriage just weeks after the three tied the knot, fans assumed that it was just a common case of issues between husband and wives. But seeing that Vanessa separated from the two shortly after came as quite the surprise. The throuple, whose wedding played out season 2 of TLC's 'Seeking Sister Wives', made it seem like the three were a match in polygamy heaven. But turns out, that was not quite the truth.

Vanessa hinted at personal growth struggles as reason for split
To join the Snowden family, Vanessa did go through a significant amount of lifestyle changes, seeing that she had to adhere to their beliefs and even stick to a stict vegetarian diet. These changes, among other things, made her question her capacity to be a sister wife. She got candid about the same in an Instagram post, where she explained that her feelings for them overpowered her 'love and commitment' to herself. She felt as though she was not being honest with herself and that she was ignoring her 'inner guidance'. While it does seem like polygamy itself was the reason the relationship didn't work, she cleared the air by saying loving someone doesn't mean that you're destined to be together and that the Snowdens' “long-established dynamic” wasn’t aligned with her individual growth. Interestingly enough, her Instagram post that talks about her breakup has been taken down/deleted. There is another post, where she does talk about a seemingly unaddressed part of the story. The caption reads: "I thought I’d take a second to clarify something, since I continue to receive comments about the reunion daily."
Seeing that the couple split shortly after the tell all, Vanessa too insisted on clearing the air. Dimitri too, took to Instagram to talk about the throuple's breakup. With a post captioned: "No matter what, we are all individuals and we all have choice.even our emotions are a choice.for now, i’m choosing to grieve."
He maintained that the reason behind it was difference between the three of them and polygamy itself wasn't to blame.
Did Vanessa and Ashley not have equal standing in the relationship?
As reported by CheatSheet, Ashley was vocal about wanting her sister wife to look after the kids so that she could look after the family business. This alone made it seem like Vanessa didn't have much of a say in the situation, seeing that Ashley was more concerned about her work and that her new sister wife was more of a nanny to her than an equal.
Were the Snowdens looking for a third wife?
For over two seasons, Dmitri and Ashley have been looking for a third partner to help expand their family. With Dimitri wanting more kids and Ashley not too keen on this herself, the responsibility for the same would have directly fallen on the third partner. Apart from this, Ashley and Dimitri were even considering a third wife, just shortly after marrying Vanessa, which would have barely given her time to settle in. Vanessa has removed all traces of the Snowdens from her social media, suggesting that there is more to the situation than meets the eye.
