MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Former police officer Kim Potter's appearance has significantly changed after serving 16 months in prison for the murder of a Black man. In her most recent mug shot, Potter, 50, appeared malnourished and gloomy.

Potter was found guilty of manslaughter in 2021 after fatally shooting Daunte Wright, 20, during a traffic stop in Minnesota. She had previously spent over three decades working as an officer in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis. On Monday, April 24, Potter, who was given a two-year prison term, will be released eight months early. The former officer's most recent mugshot was tweeted on Thursday, April 20 by Paul Blume of FOX9.

Blume wrote, "Did a double take when I saw #KimPotter new DOC photo. Potter set to be released Monday from MCF-Shakopee after spending 16 mos in prison for traffic stop shooting of Daunte Wright. Remainder of her 2-year manslaughter sentence to be served on supervised release."



 

In her most recent mug shot, Potter appears to have lost a lot of weight, and her hair has also grown out slightly, by a few inches. She even appeared lousy in comparison to the older mugshot Blume shared.

'That is not the same woman'

Several people reacted to the mugshots posted on Twitter, with one person writing, "She lost weight. Probably not the best food in there." Another person wrote, "A new hairdo and some make-up and she will be ready to mingle. Great weight loss. Wish her the best!"

A third person wrote, "Not surprised she looks tired. She's had a rough time. Don't think any of us would look good in her shoes." This other person wrote, "You are still a beautiful woman You'll get that smile back when you're with your family I wish you the best you are a good person god bless you." Another person wrote, "That is not the same woman."
