'Euphoria' season finale could see toxic Nate Jacobs meeting a tragic death, suggest fan theories

It is high time that Nate faced the consequences of his vile god-mode aggression and these fan theories will have you convinced that karma is finally being served in the finale

Nate Jacobs has been a problem since day one of HBO's teen-drama 'Euphoria'. The character played by Jacob Elordi is the textbook definition of toxic masculinity. He is the aggressive jock with anger issues who doesn't hesitate to beat the crap out of people for his own benefits, cry-wolf, falsely accuse them of crimes he committed and even blackmail innocent people with nudes.

At this point, with just the finale remaining to air, there's not a single vile thing that is beyond Nate. So it only makes sense why fans and viewers of the show are coming up with new theories that allude to him dying in the upcoming eighth and final episode.

After publicly harassing Jules (Hunter Schafer), catfishing her, assaulting his girlfriend Maddy (Alexa Demie), framing an innocent guy for the same assault, and blackmailing Jules with her nudes to falsely testify against the innocent guy, Nate's most recent heinous deed involved calling the cops on drug dealer Fezco (Angus Cloud). Granted, Fezco did threaten to kill Nate if he didn't leave Rue (Zendaya) and her friends alone, but you can really tell how vile a character has to be for fans to support and stand for a drug dealer who threatens to kill him.

Luckily for fans, Nate does not understand the grave he just dug for himself by getting into the drug dealer's business, simply because of a certain Mouse, suggests one fan. This Mouse character is the same big shot drug supplier who sells substance to Fezco and was seen coercing Rue into using Fentanyl, and insinuating rape when she didn't have the money to pay for it.

Knowing Mouse's temper and reach, he is going to be far from impressed when he finds out about the business that Nate just made him lose. As one Reddit user points out, "I feel like, at this point, Nate is playing with bigger and bigger flames and Mouse is going to lay his ass out (potentially fatally). It honestly seems like no one else is capable of taking Nate down."

Of course, Fezco will bear the brunt of Mouse's anger too since he flushed down all those drugs to avoid getting busted. That is unless he can replace those millions of dollars of drugs, or pay him back in cash. But it's also quite possible that Mouse won't hold back from teaching Nate a lesson either once he finds out why Fezco flushed all those drugs away.



 

It seems highly unlikely that Mouse will let Fezco off so easily and go straight for Nate instead, but in the promo teaser for the finale, we see a gun pointed at the screen, and a hooded Fezco reaching a door where he looks like he is on a mission to kill. One Reddit fan explains: "Fez is responsible, so Mouse comes to Fez for his money. If Fez doesn't have it, Fez is in trouble. If Fez presents his hurdle in the form of Nate snitching on him, then Mouse might forgive the debt in exchange for clipping Nate."

As a Reddit user pointed out: "Fezco owes mouse big-time money. But in most street-level operations, if you can deflect blame on a rat, you usually get a grace period for paying back the debt." It's almost a two birds with one stone situation for Fezco, so there's no reason why he should put Nate under the bus here. And knowing what Mouse is capable of, there's aa high chance he will go straight for the kill. Finally a death on the show that we wouldn't really mind. 

'Euphoria' season one finale (episode eight 'And Salt the Earth Behind You) will air on Sunday, August 4, at 10 pm, only on HBO.
