Emmys 2020 Winners List: 'Schitt's Creek' to 'Succession', all the favorites who won the 72nd Primetime Awards

It was the year of our favorite Canadians and much closer home — network television's newly reinstated boss, HBO

Back in 2019 when Game of Thrones' eighth and final season won the Outstanding drama series Emmy for whatever dumpster-fire the finale was, avid believers of the awards season were left rattled and disappointed. So when 'Schitt's Creek' won a whopping 15 nominations for its final and sixth season, doubts ran high surrounding whether the Emmys would award them just because it is their last time at the primetime ceremony.

Anyone who has seen the sixth season will know the series from Dan Levy starring himself as his father Eugene and sister Sarah deserved every single nomination they earned and looks like this time the Emmys agrees with its viewers too.

Apart from the Pop TV Canadian show's exemplary success, the much closer home win was HBO reclaiming its honor lost after that disastrous 'GoT' finale. With 'Watchmen', 'Euphoria', 'Succession' and 'I Know this Much is True' reigning the awards line-up in the drama and limited series category, it's not far fetched to deduce that even in the era of streaming, HBO is still pretty much the boss.

However, they weren't the only ones. Along with Tyler Perry receiving the Governor's Award, here are all the winners who accepted the Emmys sitting in the comforts of their home as now three-time host Jimmy Kimmel took the stage for a cardboard cutout audience at Staples Center on the night of September 20.
