'Emergence' Episode 4: Will Jo stop fostering Piper now that she knows the truth about her?
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Season 1 Episode 3 of 'Emergence' titled '2 MG CU BID'
Piper's (Alexa Swinton) truth has been revealed just three episodes into 'Emergence' and our questions about her have only increased.
In '2 MG CU BID', which aired on Tuesday, October 8, Jo (Allison Tolman) and Benny (Owain Yeoman) learned that Piper is not a girl who was experimented on but is actually a robot, which explains her superhuman abilities and her body not responding to medicine.
While understanding her truth helped Jo save Piper, she is now in a conundrum. Here is a very human-like girl who adores her and her family and looks to her for protection and love, but she just so happens to be a robot.
When she swore to serve and protect, Jo had assumed that that applied to humans alone. And, despite falling in love Piper, she wants a clearer understanding of who is living under her roof and with her family.
The upcoming Episode 4 of the series titled 'No Outlet' is expected to explore this all-consuming conflict within Jo.
Meanwhile, it looks like Benny will continue to explore what secret experiments Richard (Terry O'Quinn) has been conducting.
The promo for the episode suggests that Benny is going to try and hack into the multi-billionaire's computer with the help of a friend.
It definitely looks like Benny and Jo are going to be longtime allies, but he is yet to meet Piper and interview her for intel. We can expect that to happen in the coming episode as well.
Also, we will see a bit more of Chris (Robert Bailey Jr.) in the upcoming episode. In the promo, we see him butting heads "with a headstrong informant".
Other than the fact that he is extremely loyal to Jo and that he looks up to her, there is not much about Chris that has been revealed on the show yet, and we are excited to learn more about him.
Jo certainly seems to trust him implicitly, and we can't help but wonder if he will be privy to the knowledge that Piper is a robot.
