Lifetime is coming out with a new drama that's not exactly new per se and our warning bells have already gone off. 'Dying To Belong' is the remake of the 1997 cult classic of the same name which starred Hilary Swank and is set to premiere soon.

The Lifetime movie will address the dark practices carried out in sororities in the name of 'sisterhood' and how dangerous they can be. 'Dying To Belong' will follow the potentially deadly consequences of hazing and the negative, secret culture behind the college groups. Plot

'Dying To Belong' 2021 has the same plotline as the 1997 movie of the same name and is its official remake. The movie follows journalism major Olivia who meets Riley, a shy freshman who suffers from anxiety, with them soon becoming close friends. Riley's mother Katherine was a legacy of the sorority Pi Gamma Beta, and so she too decides to join in the hopes of following in her mother's footsteps. She is overjoyed when Olivia joins her as well. Olivia takes this as an opportunity to go undercover to write a story about hazing practices, and soon discovers there is a lot more to being 'sisters' as the truth behind the sisterhood is darker than she imagined.

In the remake of the original 1997 two college students decide to join a sorority, but they soon discover deadly secrets. 'Dying To Belong' follows in the same steps with friends Olivia and Riley being exposed to the danger they didn't know existed.

Shannen Doherty

Shannen Maria Doherty is an American actress. Doherty's first major motion picture role was in the dark comedy 'Heathers', released in 1989. She garnered worldwide attention and fame for her breakout role as Brenda Walsh in the Aaron Spelling-produced TV series 'Beverly Hills, 90210'. She is known for her roles as Jenny Wilder in 'Little House on the Prairie', Maggie Malene in 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun', Kris Witherspoon in 'Our House', and Prue Halliwell in 'Charmed'.

Favour Onwuka

Favour Onwuka is an Afro-Canadian actor, writer, and director. She is best known for her work on 'Dying to Belong', alongside '90120's Shannon Doherty, as well as 'The Order' on Netflix. Onwuka has always held a deep appreciation for the performing arts and subsequently began performing in community theatre productions, in her teens. Soon after, she was cast in various independent films, as well as a commercial for 'Much Music'. Upcoming projects include a leading role in the series 'Trigger Me '.
