Nelly and his pro-dancer partner Daniella Karagach were the first pair to be announced as the finalists last week on 'Dancing with the Stars'. It was an unbelievable event considering there were two big performers Skai Jackson and Johnny Weir that were also vying for a spot in the finals. However, they were sent home and Nelly made it, along with Justina Machado, Nev Schulman and Kaitlyn Bristowe.

For the November 23, finale episode, Nelly performed the samba. During rehearsals, he reflected on his journey on the show and the confidence that has come with it. He said he had issues dancing alone at home, let alone in public but now he was dancing on television for the world to witness. Nelly also took this as an opportunity to show his gratitude towards his fans stating that he ended up at the bottom of the leaderboard most of the time during the competition but his fans saved him every time and he said he realized how important his final performance is.

He did the samba for the finale to 'Rhythm of the Night' and the studio was filled with energy; everyone was grooving along with Nelly and Daniella. He was much more confident than he's ever been in the previous weeks, his arms moved with much more ease and he wasn't as stiff as he's been. The judges were completely mesmerized by his performance, Derek even called him a moment maker and he scored 9s across the board.

Fans watching from home felt that he might not be the best but he was an entertainer and was fun to watch. "Nelly’s samba was not good, but fun to watch. He’s been the biggest surprise of the season. #DWTS #DWTSFINALE" wrote a fan. "Yo, Nelly may not be the best on here this season, but he damn sure is fun to watch! #DWTS" wrote another. "Yes I love Nelly, still can believe he’s in the FINAL?? People stop it, you voted because HE’S NELLY #Igetit But he can’t dance..." tweeted a fan. "Nelly isn't the best dancer, but I think he looks like he's enjoying it the most #DWTS" wrote another.
