'Dancing with the Stars': Are judges trying to push Monica off the show? Fans say she 'deserved better scores'

There were a lot of lifts and flicks and everything that jazz entails. Monica Aldama did lack a little energy but it was a good performance nevertheless

Monica Aldama and pro-dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy were tied for the top position on the previous episode of 'Dancing With The Stars'. For Monday night's episode, in the rehearsal package, Monica said she wanted to continue her streak at the top and was determined to make that happen with everything she had.

Val reminded her about the critique she had received the previous week about all three judges noticing that she'd been having fun and that it worked in her favor during the performance. Monica admitted that she is started to believe in the process and enjoy her time on the show. She was excited about the scores she got from the judges and was excited to keep learning and having fun, while Val beamed at his mentee with pride.

For the performance, Monica was channeling her inner Nurse Ratched to secure the top scores. Overall, Monica did quite alright with her performance. She was sexy, the flicks and lifts were graceful with a few exceptions here and there when she got a little wobbly on her feet and the same reflected on her face. However, she did bounce back after a couple of seconds of being awkward.

The judges however chose to be unforgiving about the blunders. Bruno Tonioli pulled her up for not expressing enough through her body. He wanted to see each dance move come through every part of her body and with that missing in her performance, it didn't do much for him. Carrie Ann Inaba too agreed with Bruno and she let Monica know that it wasn't her best dance this week but also gave her hope at the end saying she's improving and will have better days.

Derek was lenient and commended her for the seductive energy Monica exuded in her dance but Carrie Ann made sure to let her fellow judge know that she couldn't relate to his comments and that Monica's performance didn't have any wow moments.

Monica hasn't been a fan favorite at all, however, her jazz did manage to garner a lot of admiration from people and Twitter had been blowing up with comments that say that she was underscored. "They are drinking some funky bug juice, there is no way Monica deserved those low scores! #DWTS" wrote a fan. "Quite confused how someone who danced well and included a lot of content gets a lower score than someone who danced poorly and didn’t have any content," wrote another.

"Idk what Carrie-Ann and Bruno are talking about, I loved Monica’s jazz!!!! She did so good #dwts," read a tweet. "These scores for Monica are an abomination!! That performance did not deserve those low scores. What the hell is wrong with these judges tonight? #DWTS," read a tweet. "Someone hold my nurses hat... that dance deserved better scores #DWTS @monicaaldama @iamValC," wrote a fan. "#DWTS judges are trying to push Monica off the show and it’s disgusting," wrote a fan.
