'Dragon's Dogma' is an anime adaptation coming to the giant streamer Netflix this September. The series is based on a dragon-hunting action-adventure video game - a 2012 action-RPG developed by Capcom and the adaptation was first announced in March 2019. Here is what we know of the upcoming release.
'Dragon's Dogma' will premiere on September 17, 2020.
Netflix's official synopsis reads, "Based on a world-famous action RPG set in an open world, Dragon's Dogma from Capcom will be brought to life as a Netflix original anime series. The story follows a man's journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an 'Arisen'. An action-adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans."
It was further reported by Polygon that the "show will pick up in a world where the Dragon hasn’t attacked for over 100 years until suddenly the Dragon reappears and attacks a small village. A villager named Ethan tries to protect his family, but things don’t exactly work out. Instead of dying Ethan becomes the Arisen and sets off on a quest to kill the Dragon with the help of a Pawn — a being that exists only to hunt the Dragon."
