Desiree Ache: Woman poisons two sons to punish ex for getting new partner, spends day with bodies before calling cops
BADEN-WUERTTEMBERG, GERMANY: A mother confessed to authorities that she had done "something terrible" after poisoning her two sons with sleeping pills and spending a whole day with their bodies. Desiree Ache, 43, allegedly murdered Hagen, 9, and Theodor, 7, on April 8.
Ache's close ones claim that she might have carried out the heinous act after she found out her ex had found a new partner. She then spent the whole day next to their bodies before alerting police about the tragedy in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. The public prosecutor's office has not yet commented on the motive for the crime.

Father was concerned about Ache's mental health
According to the local media reports, the children's father, Stefan, had taken the pair to spend the Easter holidays with their mother, despite his grave concerns about her mental health. He had sole custody of the boys and was planning to pick them up on April 9. He also had plans to go on holiday with them and his new partner for a week.
Officers found the victims' bodies in her apartment following Ache's call to police. They then arrested her and remanded her in custody on murder charges.
'Desiree didn't approve of Stefan's new love'
"Desiree didn't approve of Stefan's new love and wanted to punish him by killing his children", an unnamed close acquaintance of Ache said, according to The Mirror. "The children were innocent victims of Desiree's revenge. That's why she didn't take her own life, because now she can make him suffer, even if behind bars. She knows full well that she has taken away what he loved most and destroyed his life as a result."
In the boys' obituary, their family wrote, "You were torn away from us by violence but you remain as angels." The investigation is currently ongoing.
A similar incident
MEAWW previously reported that a woman kissed her infant son and toddler daughter, promised them she would always love them, and then stabbed them in the chest, according to court testimony. The children's mother is accused of killing her eight-week-old baby in July 2021 and attempting to kill his two-year-old sister. The mother, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, admitted to stabbing the children but denies the charges. The first day of her trial at Belfast Crown Court began February 2.
According to the BBC, the woman called her partner on July 27, 2021, claiming to have killed her child and that her daughter was lying there "slowly bleeding." She also confessed to him that she planned to die by suicide. She then reportedly dialed 999 and told the operator, "I killed my kid for him". The woman's mental health was "an important matter in the case," the prosecutor said.
