Deadpool 2's suicide scene and extra Domino stuff included in "director's cut", confirms David Leitch

While in most cases, especially with superhero adventures, the director's cut tends to have a longer run time, Leitch revealed that his initial assembly clocked in at 2.13 hrs.

A "director's cut" of the latest Fox release, Deadpool 2, is currently in the works and its supposed to include 13 extra minutes of pure R-rated entertainment.

The confirmation came from director David Leitch himself, who while discussing the extended edition of the anti-hero sequel, explained that the above-mentioned cut is the original, early version of the movie that was shown to lead star Ryan Reynolds and the other producers in the initial days.

"There's an extended cut. And I think that they may want to spin that out as a special thing," the director, known for his expertise in the action genre, told Cinema Blend. "But right now I'm sort of... we're taking our time, and it's going back to the 'director cut,' and then sort of collaborating with Ryan [Reynolds], Rhett [Reese], and Paul [Wernick], and making sure we're all getting all the jokes we want - to have it be fun and our sort of fun collaboration."

While in most cases, especially with superhero adventures, the director's cut tends to have a longer run time, Leitch revealed that his initial assembly clocked in at 2 hours and 13 minutes - an impressive run-time that Reynolds had a hard time coming to terms with.

Leitch, who also has other hits like John Wick and Atomic Blonde to his credit, said, "I kept telling the studio, and I kept telling Ryan, I'm like, 'No, the director's cut going to come in at like 2:12.' And he's like, 'No way!' And I'm like, 'It is!' It's going to come in at 2:12. I want to make it tight. I want you guys to get a really tight first look at the film."

"I don't think it needs to be bloated and I'm not that type of filmmaker."

It might be, however, a little too early to gauge about Fox's distribution method for the extended cut. But chances are that this special director's version of Deadpool 2 might make its way during the Blu-ray release.

As for the extra scenes that will make up for the extension, Leitch teases there will be a highlight on Domino and that suicide scene.

"The suicide scene is in there, and there's a scene in the mansion in the kitchen over breakfast. There's some extra Domino stuff. There's a lot of fun little bits, and then a lot of alts!" he added.

Deadpool 2 is currently playing in the theaters.
