Critics' Choice TV Awards: 'Abbott Elementary', 'Better Call Saul' lead nominations, 'Yellowstone' gets Drama Series nod
The awards season has finally begun and it’s time for the Critics’ Choice Association to honor the best of Television in 2022. The nominations for the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards were announced on Tuesday, December 6, and shows like ‘Abbott Elementary’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ dominated the nods in multiple categories.
ABC’s ‘Abbott Elementary’ leads the nominations with six nods, including Best Comedy Series. The series will be competing against the likes of ‘Barry’ (HBO), ‘The Bear’ (FX), ‘Better Things’ (FX), ‘Ghosts’ (CBS), ‘Hacks’ (HBO Max), ‘Reboot’ (Hulu), and ‘Reservation Dogs’ (FX). On the other hand, Quinta Brunson has been nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series accolade. The series also earned several other acting nominations.

AMC’s blockbuster series ‘Better Call Saul’ followed with an impressive five nominations overall, including Best Drama Series. The show’s leading actor Bob Odenkirk is nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series and will be fighting for the trophy against the likes of Jeff Bridges (‘The Old Man’), Adam Scott (‘Severance’), Antony Starr (‘The Boys’), Sterling K. Brown (‘This Is Us’), and Diego Luna (‘Andor’). On the other hand, Rhea Seehorn has received a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
‘Gaslit’ (Starz), ‘Reservation Dogs’ (FX), and ‘The Good Fight’ (Paramount+) are tied with four nominations each.
Disney+’s latest ‘Star Wars’ series ‘Andor’ has also received two nominations this time around, including Best Drama Series. Meanwhile, Luna gets a nod in the Best Actor category. Meanwhile, TV’s biggest drama series ‘Yellowstone’ has also received two nods at the Critics’ Choice Awards, including Best Drama Series.
