The jail was immediately put on lockdown when police reported the four missing inmates, and employees soon discovered two breaches—one in a cell and one on the roof. The authorities said that the prisoners had escaped via the jail's roof.
One escapee died in the standoff and another was found dead
The 22-year-old Dylan Arrington who was accused of killing a pastor died on Wednesday, April 24 in a standoff with law enforcement after barricading himself in a house. He had shot a deputy in the leg before the house caught fire. The remains were later discovered to be his. Soon after his escape, Arrington killed the pastor of D’Lo church, Anthony Watts, 61, of Simpson County. He also stole his red pickup truck. Police revealed that Watts pulled over to help a man who had wrecked a motorcycle.

Prior to Casey's discovery, Jerry Raynes, 52, was arrested in Spring Valley, Texas, about 10 miles west of Houston, Spring Valley, Texas, on April 27. Jerry is also accused of stealing a public works vehicle which was found abandoned near Spring Valley. He is facing extradition back to Mississippi.
Previous charges
Prior to the escape, Raynes was being held on charges of auto theft and business burglary, the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office said. Arrington had been charged with auto theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, while Grayson was being held on charges of grand larceny and sale of a controlled substance, according to the office. Harrison was facing a charge of receiving stolen property before the escape.
