MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: A new angle has emerged in Jordan Neely's case after several 911 callers claimed one of the men involved carrying a gun or a knife. The police said, five emergency calls were made over four minutes around 2.30 pm. The fatal incident took place on the subway on Monday, May 1, in which Daniel Penny, 24, held Neely in a chokehold on the floor of the northbound F train in Lower Manhattan.

The first emergency caller reported a physical fight on the subway around 2.26 pm, and it was followed by another call a minute later alarming authorities that someone is threatening riders. The third claimed a straphanger was armed with a knife or a gun, however, it was not clear what the caller meant as neither Neely nor Penny were later found to be armed. On Friday, May 5, overviews of the calls were released by the city, but full transcripts of the calls are still not out.
