In Episode 4, ‘Clipped’ takes a pause from the ongoing narrative and offers a flashback into the lives of the pivotal characters.

The episode particularly sheds light on the struggles V Stiviano faced before meeting Donald Sterling.

A flashback to 2004 shows Stiviano single-handedly trying to run a food truck business in LA while struggling financially and hoping to become a reality TV star one day.

She meets Deja, who takes her to a rave party, suggesting it would be a great place to meet sugar daddies and get some attention from the reality TV producers.

In this scene, Stiviano admits to being booked for shoplifting and reveals she is currently on probation. The episode also delves into the rocky marriage of Donald and Shelly Sterling.

Donald Sterling had an extramarital relationship with a woman named Alexandra Castro. In 2003, after their breakup, Sterling sued her, seeking the return of a house she was living in.

Additionally, the episode highlights the housing discrimination suit against the Sterlings.

Amid the piling cases, infidelity, and public embarrassment, Shelly is seen kicking Donald Sterling out of their beach house.

The official synopsis for 'Clipped' Episode 5 reads, "V tries to explain herself to Barbara Walters; Doc finds himself doing everybody's job; the Sterlings face consequences."
