It has been a two weeks since NBC's Chicago Fire' has been on hiatus and we're finally back with 'Escape Route' which sees Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) tackle his emotions after a call to a "familiar location."

On the other hand, there is also the Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Greg Grainger (Jon-Michael Ecker) debate, which we are all here for because Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) obviously seems to not be able to make her decision between the two hunks. Unfortunately for Casey, Grainger is now doing a shift at Firehouse 51, and well, in just a few minutes into the episode, you could cut the tension between the duo with a knife.

Is it time for Grainger to go?

Now of course because Brett still loves Casey, but she's kind of picking things up with Grainger who's new to fans on the romantic front. While we want the Casey and Brett ship to happen, we're thinking that dating Grainger might give Brett the fresh perspective she needs to figure out if she and Casey are right for each other. So naturally, Twitter blew up with both sides, some in love with Grainger, others completely over Casey's and Grainger's immediate tension.

"We’re just about 5 mins in and there is already so much tension it seems between Grainger and Casey. #ChicagoFire #OneChicago," said one user. Another added, "We need to say Goodbye Grainger tonight because jealous Casey is not a personality trait I want around for long(although he’s hot when he’s jealous). #ChicagoFire."

The episode also sees Grainger apologizing for overstepping during a call the Firehouse had earlier in the day, but Casey, instead of being understanding tells him to defer the calls to him on the shifts Grainger is working on. Now, that we think, is a tad bit too harsh and so did fans because at the end of it, it came down to jealousy over Brett. "@NBCChicagoFire @Jesse_Spencer Casey I don't like how your trying to flex on Grainger! He didn't even know about your interest in Brett! Let's knock it off please! I mean Grainger apologized for doing what comes natural #ChicagoFire," said one user. Another added, "It just started and I'm already over the Casey & Grainger jealousy or whatever. #ChicagoFire." Yet another added, "Listen the only reason I’m still watching #ChicagoFire is for Kelly and Stellaride. This Casey/Brett stuff has completely turned me off the show @NBCOneChicago." "Oh man Casey. Greg was just trying to say sorry. You know you were petty there my friends. #ChicagoFire #Brettsey," said another user.

Many also encouraged Casey to move on with one user writing, "I love Matt Casey with all my heart and I will love and support him to the end but he needs to relax and seek his happiness. If his happiness is outside station 51, he should look for it. #ChicagoFire." Another added, "Jealousy and envy isn't a good look on Casey. Also, I don't like wound up Captain Casey."

'Chicago Fire' Season 9 airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
