'Chicago Fire' Season 8 Episode 6 will see rookie firefighter Blake Gallo disobey a direct order to save a family

When a kid comes to Gallo asking to rescue his family inside, it's no wonder that Gallo decides to be a hero again — but this time, the results could be deadly

This season of 'Chicago Fire' took off to a rough start with the loss of Brian "Otis" Zvonecek in the line of duty. Though Captain Matthew Casey took some time to fill in the spot left by Otis, he eventually found firefighter candidate Blake Gallo, played by Alberto Rosende.

However, Chief Boden was not sure about Gallo as he felt the rookie might be too impulsive and he did not want to lose another firefighter in the line of duty.

However, Severide and Casey manage to convince him to approve Gallo's addition. In turn, Gallo said that he will honor Otis' memory.

We also learned a little about Gallo's history. When he was 12, he was stuck in a wardrobe during a raging house fire and was rescued by a big firefighter — which inspired him to choose the profession.

But we also learn that Gallo lost his whole family in that house fire. In this week's episode, it looks like Boden's worries might not be unfounded as Gallo disobeys a direct order from Casey as Truck 81 is battling another house fire.

When a kid comes to Gallo asking to rescue his family inside, it's no wonder that Gallo decides to be a hero again — but this time, the results could be deadly.

Elsewhere in the episode, firefighters Joe Cruz and Kelly Severide work together on their common suspicion of foul play when a fire started by an elderly woman turns fatal.

On the bright side, Stella Kidd, Emily Foster and Sylvie Brett will try to create a women's-only lounge at Firehouse 51, where everyone will be celebrating some good news.

The good news is presumably Cruz's engagement to Chloe and, to be honest, this bit of happiness is much deserved in this season. 'Chicago Fire' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights.
