Lifetime's 'Caught in His Web’: 5 things you didn't know about Alison Thornton

When a cyberbully hacks into three women's smartphones and laptops, their lives become a living hell. They get together with the help of a detective to find the perpetrator and put a stop to the harassment once and for all.

According to Lifetime, 'Caught in His Web' is inspired by true events and tells the horrifying story of Emma (Alison Thornton), Olivia (Malia Baker), and Gabby (Emma Tremblay) who are unknowingly tormented by a mysterious cyberbully called Blake. Infiltrating each of their lives by hacking into their cell phones and computers, Blake coerces them to send nude photos and continually harasses them and tracks their every move. Feeling extremely alone and experiencing anxiety, depression, and fear, the girls later discover they are not alone in being tormented. They decide to join forces and enlist the help of Detective Holland (Garcelle Beauvais) in the hunt to unmask their harasser and end their nightmare.

'Caught in His Web' is produced for Lifetime by Cyber Productions, Inc in association with Johnson Production Group. Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Egenberg, Jack Heller, Tom Leonardis, and Alesia Cook are executive producers. Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen is a co-executive producer. Hannah Cheesman is the director, while the script has been written by Danielle Iman.

Cast

Alison Thornton

Alison Thornton, often known as Alison Grace Thornton, is a well-known actress. She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on August 14, 1999. She is best known for her roles in 'Girlfriends Guide to Divorce' as Zooey Hernandez Frumpkis and 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency' as Lydia Spring. She became more successful in her industry in a short amount of time, influencing others through her work and gaining a lot of notoriety. Her career came full circle after a time as she rose to prominence. She graduated from Dr Charles Best Secondary School in 2017 and is currently attending Simon Fraser University. She is bilingual (English and French). She splits her time between Vancouver and Los Angeles.



 


Alison began performing at Place des Arts in Coquitlam, British Columbia, at the age of five, in dance, singing, piano, and theatre. She made her television debut with the Hallmark channel film titled 'Let It Snow' as Angeline Bennett. In 2018, she was cast in the indie film 'The Mental State' as Bethany Forrest. Thornton is a writer as well as an actor. 'Five Rings', a short tale she wrote, was chosen and published in 'The Lost Door'. 

Malia Baker

Malia Baker is an actor and activist who was named one of Seventeen magazine's Voices of the Year in 2020 and Refinery29 Canada's Powerhouses of 2021. She swiftly rose to prominence in the profession. Baker is most known for her role in Netflix's popular series 'The Baby-Sitters Club' in which she played Mary Anne Spier, the most sympathetic character in the nostalgic and adored series in 2020.



 

Emma Tremblay

Emma Tremblay was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on April 21, 2004. Emma has appeared in films such as 'Elysium' (2013), 'The Giver' (2014), and 'The Judge' (2014).



 

Garcelle Beauvais

Garcelle Beauvais started her start as a model when she was seventeen years old, and easily transitioned into acting in the Aaron Spelling series 'Models, Inc'. She then spent five years on the hit WB comedy 'The Jamie Foxx Show', co-starring alongside Jamie Foxx. She also starred in the highly popular Emmy Award-winning series 'NYPD Blue' for four seasons. She co-hosts for 'E!'s Fashion Police' and NBC's 'Access Hollywood Live' in between her acting commitments. She is a supporter of the Step Up Women's Network, a national non-profit dedicated to empowering women and girls to achieve their greatest potential. 



 


Burkely Duffield

Burkely Duffield is a Canadian actor who played Holden Matthews in ABC Freeform's 'Beyond'. He has starred in various movies including 'Warcraft: The Beginning' and has appeared in several famous TV shows.
