'Catfish' Season 9: Jason comes face-to-face with the 'bamboozling lying b*****d' who catfished him for 2 years

The man in question went by the name Keith. Him and Jason were in a relationship for 2 years. The latter finally understood that he was being catfished and they finally come face to face in this episode

'Catfish' is back on MTV for Season 9 of the series on Wednesday, August 5. This is the first season to be shot virtually and the first episode featured the story of an LA-based hairstylist named Jason. He was talking to a man named Keith based in Detroit for two whole years and talked about marrying him without ever having met or even seeing each him on FaceTime. His well-meaning friend Tamirra seeks Nev Schulman and Kamie's help to make Jason see that he's been set up for a huge heartbreak and that he needs to acknowledge all the red flags that have been there all this while.

Jason was oblivious to the fact that he was being bamboozled on the Internet by this man who claims to be Keith, even after Nev and Kamie told him that he was using pictures of at least three different men on his Instagram. They then did a quick image search and found out the people whose photos were being used. They all agreed to hop onto a video call with Jason and tell him the truth. This incident served as an eye-opener for Jason and he was now ready to know the truth about this man who claimed to be Keith. 

Nev and Kamie then reached out to this man on his phone number but they couldn't get hold of him. Later on, Jason sent in a text saying this is essential for their relationship and Keith agreed but he didn't immediately show himself when he joined the video conference. After much cajoling, he came in front of the camera finally and Jason was extremely pissed with what he saw and then heard. 

This man was named Tayy and along with Jason, he was also involved with another man who he happened to be engaged to. He was unapologetic for what he put Jason through and blamed 'Catfish' for ruining a perfect relationship. Kamie just wanted him to be removed from the conference as her patience ran thin. Jason was ready to immediately move on from Keith, who he called a 'bamboozling lying b*****d', and explore his options when it comes to his love life.
 
 'Catfish' airs Wednesday nights at 8 pm ET on MTV and VH1.
