Carole Radziwill quits 'Real Housewives of New York': 'I'm thrilled to leave frenemies behind'
After being on six consecutive seasons of the show, 54-year-old Carole Radziwill is finally saying goodbye to the 'Real Housewives of New York'
Carole Radziwill has tuned out of her journey on Bravo’s 'The Real Housewives of New York City' saying the most Carolesque goodbye to those she calls her 'frenemies.' In a recent statement, the 54-year-old award-winning journalist and best-selling author opened up about how she's going to depart the hit reality series which she has been on since its fifth season.
“After six seasons on Bravo’s 'RHONY', I have decided to return to what I do best — journalism and producing,” she shared in an exclusive statement to People magazine. “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind,” she added. “My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament.”
But of course her statement wasn't missing the one last dig that she just couldn't seem to withhold. “I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind,” Radziwill wrote — possibly a nod to her BFF-turned-nemesis Bethenny Frankel. “I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy. Next.”
Radziwill’s time on 'RHONY' had started in the middle of massive chaos when original cast members like Frankel, Jill Zarin, and Alex McCord had left, and accompanying them in the grand departure was Kelly Killoren Bensimon.
Back then, Frankel had left to focus on her then-husband Jason Hoppy and also their new daughter Bryn, as well as to begin work on her self-titled talk show. The hiatus didn't last long as she soon returned in season 7. And that's how her friendship with Radziwill started since the latter had proven herself to be quite loyal to her at that point. However, she went on to become a rather fierce foe, too, befriending fellow housewive Heather Thomson while taking on the likes of Aviva Drescher and de Lesseps.
As for the tenth season of 'RHONY' which is currently airing, Radziwll is seen to have had a fallout with Frankel while continuing to remain on amicable terms with Tinsley Mortimer, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan and de Lesseps.
In her personal life, Radziwill is seen to be in an on-again, off-again relationship with chef and filmmaker Adam Kenworthy. Previously, she was married to Anthony Radziwill for five years before he died in 1999.
Professionally, Radziwill's career in journalism had reportedly begun in New York all the way back in 1985 at ABC, and later it took her around the world with Peter Jennings' documentary crew during which time she went on to cover political crises In Iraq, Afghanistan and Cambodia.
