E! has a new talk show called 'Busy Tonight' and serving as the host and executive producer will be none other than the social media sensation, Busy Philipps. The half-hour talk show, airing every Sunday through Wednesday, will feature Philipps - as everyone’s favorite unfiltered Hollywood best friend. She'll be giving her hilarious and outspoken opinions on the latest pop culture stories and trending topics with candid celebrity guest interviews and original comedic segments.
The show is set to premiere on Sunday, October 28 at 10 pm ET/PT.
Former Co-Executive Producer of Bravo Media’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Caissie St.Onge, has also been tapped by the network to serve as showrunner. St.Onge - who's a longtime writer and producer, will be joining Philipps' show after nine years with “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” She has previously also worked on popular, Emmy-winning talk shows such as “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
“Busy’s singular point of view which is beloved by so many on her Instagram stories will be on full display in ‘Busy Tonight,’” said Amy Introcaso-Davis EVP, Development and Production at E! “Her hilarious commentary sits on the intersection of pop culture and everyday life…She’s a gifted actress, a mother, a wife, and best friend, and her willingness to give our audience an insider’s view to her life as a celebrity tastemaker and working mom is exactly what the young female E! audience craves.”
'Busy Tonight' will be produced by Little Stranger Inc and Wilshire Studios; with Busy Philipps, Julie Darmody, Eric Gurian, and Caissie St.Onge coming on board as executive producers.
Philipps herself had previously shared about her talk show with E! News: "It's entertainment, it's my perspective on things. I'm so excited to bring the show to E!. I think there's plenty of space for another female voice in late night and I'm so happy that E!'s so supportive of female talent. I'm thrilled to get the show together and talk to all my friends. I've been working in this business for 20 years, I know all these people and have them come on and do fun things...A lot's going to happen on 'Busy Tonight'!"
