The ex-couple, who share a great friendship now, were apparently pulling each other down during the court proceedings. The claims had gotten fierce and the comments had turned ugly. It has been eight years since their divorce has been finalized. What caused it? Read on to know more.

During the first three seasons of 'RHOBH', Nassif and Maloof would often bicker but not to a point that it would lead to a divorce. However, one thing led to another and before anyone guessed it, Nassif filed for legal separation, and months later divorce.

Their court declarations were nothing more than a string of "angry allegations," People reported. Nassif had alleged that Maloof’s behavior had become increasingly "unpredictable, physically violent, and toxic," which he thought would impact their three children adversely. What served as a final nail on the coffin was her apparently hitting him in the face and chest, kicking him in the legs as she dubbed him a "horrible father." According to Nassif, he was "verbally and physically abused" by Maloof in front of the kids.

Maloof wasn't the one to take it silently. She counter-attacked with claims of her own. In her filing, she mentioned how Nassif carried a gun and that it had gotten their kids scared. In his defense, he was licensed to own it and used to protect his kids from death threats. Maloof also alleged that he was drunk and one of their kids went missing under his watch on a kayaking trip. "Paul was never more than five feet away from the boys," an eye witness told the outlet.

Clearly, their relationship had become bitter by the end of it but fortunately for them, they were able to recover from it and forge a friendship just for their kids' sake. They are great as friends and co-parents now.
