In the wake of 'Suits' getting over, NBC just has the thing to satiate your legal-drama hungry appetite. Arriving this fall is the brand new 'Bluff City Law' which will give you all the taste and rush of being a legal representative associated with not always the squeaky clean clients in today's world. But underlining the dramedy's plot will also be a fun father-daughter dynamic as we see the main character, Elijah, and his estranged daughter, Sidney, trying to not rip each other's throats out when they end up working together following the death of Elijah's wife and Sidney's mom. Here's all you need to know about the fun and exciting new series!

Release date

Bluff City Law is slated to premiere this September 23, at 10 pm only on NBC.

Plot

According to the official synopsis of the show, "Coming from a famous Memphis family known for taking on injustice, brilliant lawyer Sydney Strait used to work at her father Elijah's celebrated law firm until their tumultuous relationship got in the way. After barely speaking to him for years, Sydney is suddenly thrust back into the family fold when her philanthropist mother passes away unexpectedly. In the wake of her loss, hoping to reconnect with the daughter he loves, Elijah asks Sydney to rejoin his firm. She agrees because despite her lingering resentment and distrust, she knows that working alongside her father is her best hope at changing the world... if they can ever get along."

Creator

Created by Dean Georgaris ('The Brave') and Michael Aguilar, the show's pilot was written by Georgaris who is also executive producing alongside David Janollari and Aguilar. Production companies involved with the pilot include David Janollari Entertainment and Universal Television

Jimmy Smits returns to the same network that gave his shot to fame with the late 80's hit 'LA Law', as the dynamic Memphis attorney Elijah Strait, aka the lead. The 'Dexter' and 'Sons of Anarchy' star will be joined by Caitlyn McGee as Elijah's estranged daughter, Sydney Strait. The show also stars Michael Luwoye, Scott Shepherd, and Barry Sloane.
