'Billions' Season 6: Release date, spoilers, cast and all about Showtime's hit drama

'Billions' made a strong start to the second half of Season 5 after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic forced production houses to come to a halt. The thrilling battle between a hedge fund honcho Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and AG Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) continued with new players introduced in the mix. Such was the ending of Season 5 that a new season is inevitable.

The good news: There will be another installment of the complex, financial drama and will almost certainly feature all the major characters. A Deadline article announced the renewal of the hit Showtime drama and the episodes of the new season was filmed alongside the remaining episodes of Season 5. Ahead of the new season, here's everything we know about 'Billions' Season 6.

Release date and where to watch?

Brian Koppelman, the co-creator tweeted that Season 6 will arrive in early 2022, and over the years, we have seen the drama release around February or March, so we can expect the series to return around the same time. The episodes can be viewed on Showtime.

Season 5 ended with Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) buying AxeCap from Axe and paid him two billion upfront. It also saw the latter avoid going to prison after the cannabis deal goes bad. Rhoades bent on arresting Axe comes to know about Prince's move that saw his target slip away to Switzerland. Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff) is heartbroken as Axe decides to travel, while he intends to stay back and take care of the family.

Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon) will almost certainly work with Mike as the new boss. Only time will tell if Wendy decides to change her mind and work on her relationship with Axe. Much about Season 6 is still up in the air, however, watch this space for any updates on the plot.

Cast

Expect Chuck, Axe, Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff), Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon), Mike "Wags" Wagner (David Costabile), and Kate Sacker (Condola Rashād) to all return as the storyline will definitely spill over into Season 6. Corey Stoll's Prince has been signed up upgraded to a series regular for Season 6, so he'll return as well.

Creator

Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin serve as the creators of the show. Levine and Koppelman have collaborated for 'Rounders' and 'Ocean's Thirteen.'

Trailer

There is no official trailer for Season 6 of 'Billions' yet, however, we can expect a quick promo at the end of the episode.
