Spoilers for 'Billions' Season 5 Episode 11 'Victory Smoke'

As 'Billions' Season 5 reaches a gripping finale, the penultimate episode gave the audience quite the jolt by finally stumping Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) as they trap him into signing a deal with Winslow (Janeane Garofalo), the hip owner of a legal cannabis corp as the client for his bank.

The end result was that Axe signed on the papers that had the due diligence done by Mike Prince (Corey Stoll). The sucker punch would be that she is just another peddler selling a lot of illegal products and the man bankrolling it would be Axe. It was a genius scheme that had Axe and fans of the show stumped. Fan reviews poured in on Twitter as they praised the gripping storyline and also wondered what Axe's fate would be. "These new episodes of #Billions must have required an epic flo-chart @briankoppelman, I think axe is going to double cross himself in the finale. Great writing. Great music too," read one of the tweets.

"Axe’s legal trouble basically spells his death in the finance space unless he wants to run a family office with his own funds like the S1 offer but I doubt he sees his way out this time #Billions" opined a fan. "Time for Axe to triumph again next week! Today's episode wad mind-bending!" one of the fans remarked. Some felt the victory that Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti), Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon), and Prince's win would be short-lived. "The First Triumvirate has scored a victory in the battle against Axe. But one can win a battle, and still lose the war... @SHO_Billions," a tweet read.

"Brilliant how @SHO_Billions has been keeping @lewis_damian in the thrust of the action, though he’s clearly been filming separately from everyone else. (End credits have been listing a “U.K. Unit.”) #Billions @Showtime" one of the fans wrote. This could be the ultimate comment: "Man, y'all out here doing God's work with this show. Victory Smokes is bonkers (I have the showtime app) can't wait for S6!"
