ROME, ITALY: Netflix premiered 'The Beautiful Game' on March 28, and it's winning over audiences with its heartfelt charm, even among those who aren't usually into soccer.

The British sports drama directed by Thea Sharrock stars Bill Nighy and Michael Ward in key roles. The film centers on a group of English homeless footballers, under the guidance of their coach Mal (Bill Nighy), as they prepare for the Homeless World Cup in Rome.

Loved it." "Five minutes in and I can already tell that “The Beautiful Game” on Netflix will be a tearjerker," wrote an emotional fan.

Fans applaud Bill Nighy and Michael Ward for their performances in 'The Beautiful Game'

One fervent fan of Bill Nighy commented, "The Beautiful Game on Netflix is not bad, I like that it attempts to show the human side of homelessness, but I only really watched it for Bill Nighy. Which is ironic as he's miscast and not believeable as a football manager. But I don't care, coz he's Bill Nighy."

"The Beautiful Game on Netflix is one to watch, beautiful story. I’m so proud of Michael Ward, feel like I’ve watched him grow as an actor," wrote a fan, praising Michael Ward while another said, "The Beautiful Game is much more than the usual heartwarming sports underdog story. Plus, it has MVP Bill Nighy. Loved it."

One soccer fan wrote, "The power of football is real. Bill Nighy and Michael Ward really had me in my feels (no Diddy)! A good film to welcome back the prem weekend… for it is indeed…"

'The Beautiful Game' is now exclusively streaming on Netflix.
