Coronavirus Pandemic: 'Betty White is fine', confirms rep after scores of fans begin fearing for her health

On Wednesday, Betty started trending on Twitter, sending fans into a frenzy who thought she contracted the dreaded coronavirus

Betty White is an iconic celebrity. She's loved by all and for those who might not know her for her exceptional work on TV might definitely know her as an animal rights and welfare activist which has won her multitudes of supporters. 

On Wednesday, news broke about Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson testing positive for coronavirus, following which POTUS Donald Trump put a stop on all travels between EU and USA and NBA also suspended all games this season in the wake of a player testing positive for the virus in a preliminary examination. Betty also seemed to get caught in this whirlwind of frenzy.

The 98-year-old 'Golden Girls' star started trending on Twitter and the first thought that came to the minds of Betty's fans was that she's down with the virus as well. Immediately, Twitter saw a crazy outpouring of fans voicing their concerns for Betty's wellbeing. To contain the emotions of fans that were running high, a representative for Betty issued a statement to NBC's Today assuring everyone that 'Betty White is fine.'

A user had tweeted, "Saw Betty White trending and DO NOT EVER FU***NG GODDAMN SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN I SWEAR TO GOD"



 

Another tweet read, "Mrw I see #bettywhite trending but it’s just people hoping she stays healthy and honestly, I’ll find a way to murder the corona if she gets it."



 

Another fan wrote, "Well the world has had a heart attack over #bettywhite trending. Glad she is still with us!! #nottodaysatan #youshallnothavebettywhite"



 

"Saw Betty White trending and had a heart attack y’all better not even blink near her or it’s on site", wrote another fan.

With a career spanning 80 years, Betty White is known to have the longest-running stint on television than any other entertainer. Her first jobs were on local TV and radio in Los Angeles in the year 1939, one month post graduating from Beverly Hills High School. The three-time Emmy winner was a regular on 'The Carol Burnett Show' and 'The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson'. Her role on ABC primetime series 'Boston Legal' from 2005 to 2008 and sitcom 'Hot in Cleveland' from 2010 to 2015 helped her win a new generation of fans.

Her most recent role was as part of the voice cast for 2019's film 'Toy Story 4'.
