Based on the 2018 Sundance documentary film Crystal Moselle's 'Skate Kitchen,' HBO's 'Betty' accumulated an intense fan base with its release on May 1, 2020. Not only did Moselle reprise her role as the original creator, but the main case from the film also reprised their roles. The series became a big hit with its vivid cinematography and ease in capturing the personality of many bold woman characters taking patriarchy by the collar and delving into the "man's world" sport of skating. Release date
On June 18, HBO announced that the popular teenage series 'Betty' will be returning for Season 2. The release date of the upcoming season is yet to be released as Season 1 just recently concluded on June 5. Stay tuned for updates. Many are expecting Season 2 to drop in the summer of 2021, taking into effect the Covid-19 pandemic has had on productions everywhere.
Plot
As per the renewal announcement from HBO, the synopsis reads, "'Betty' follows a diverse group of young women navigating their lives through the predominantly male-oriented world of skateboarding, set against the backdrop of New York City." The official plotline for Season 2 is yet to be released, although we're expecting it to be a hit. Variety critic Caroline Framke wrote an intensely positive review on the series, saying it "zips alongside its characters as they weave through traffic, across parks and over bridges on their skateboards."

The original cast will return for 'Betty' Season 2 and includes Dede Lovelace returning as Janay, Nina Moran as Kirt, Anjani Russell as Indigo, Rachel Vinberg as Camille, Kabrina 'Moonbear' Adams as Honeybear, Reza Nader as Farouk, Edmund Donovan as Bambi, Caleb Eberhardt as Donald, Katerina Tannenbaum as Ash, Jules Lorenzo as Yvette and Brenn Lorenzo as Celia.

According to the renewal announcement from HBO, Crystal Moselle serves as director and executive producer. The series is produced by Untitled Entertainment and Igor Srubshchik, Jason Weinberg and Alliah Sophia Mourad also serve as executive producers.
