There was a time when he reportedly came 'close' to hooking with a primary guest, was it Sylvia Hampel?

Captain Glenn Shephard is passionate about sailing, there are no two ways about it. He has two decades of experience, which is evident in the way he manages the Parsifal III. But being on a boat and cruising along the coasts have kept him from having a personal life, a hard fact he was probably aware of when he took up his first job as a deckhand during his travels in Europe.

But his love life has not exactly been barren. There was a time he came "close" to hooking with a primary guest. Was it Sylvia Hampel? We don't know that for sure, but we did witness flirty chemistry between the two in the previous season, which brings us to the question: Did all the talking lead somewhere? We know he's not married or engaged. Also, let's wait till the Captain addresses those rumors.

For now, here's a quick recap of what happened when Sylvia arrived on the yacht with her family, which included a one-month-old baby. And that had everyone nervous because it wouldn't be easy. But the little one surprised the crew and guests when she slept while others got chatting at the dinner table, where the Captain was invited. He doesn't like to be the center of attention but this time, he made an exception. Was all that effort for Sylvia alone? We'll never know. His Instagram feed also doesn't give away much of his personal life, except for photos from his travels. They are stunning, by the way.

Captain Glenn is in love with someone else. Cruising. "I think the rest of my life I've kind of been trying to recreate that summer because it was magical," he shared during one of his introductory confessionals and added: "I just fell in love with the idea of cruising on a little boat in the Mediterranean." Despite the work pressure, Glenn said he enjoyed three aspects of the profession: travel, money and freedom to take the time off.

Catch more of the Captain and his antics when 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' returns for Season 2 on Bravo on March 1, Monday, at 9/8c. For more information, check your local listings.
