'Bachelor in Paradise' 2022 finale: Fans slam Brittany Galvin for breaking up with Tyler Norris on FaceTime
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brittany Galvin and Tyler Norris left 'Bachelor in Paradise' as a pair but they disclosed their breakup on the November 22 reunion. Fans soon flocked to social media to express their disappointment at the breakup of one of the season's cutest couples, as well as to respond to what transpired outside of Paradise.
For Brittany and Tyler, love didn't work in the real world. "It’s clear that we’re not together," Tyler stated on the November 22 'Bachelor in Paradise' Reunion. "You think that you found something that could potentially be forever. I thought I had that, but I didn’t. It’s definitely tough."

Brittany and Tyler declared their love for each other on Season 8 of 'BiP,' which was filmed over the summer. They walked away from the beach as a happy couple. Tyler explained when things began to go bad during the reunion. "Everything was awesome," he said. "She came to Jersey right away. I went to Chicago and met her family. It was perfect. But right after that, she said she wanted to get away for a little bit. She went to London and Italy. She FaceTimed me from Italy and said she felt we were two different people living two different lies, and she just couldn’t do it anymore."
To complicate things, Brittany ended her relationship with Tyler on the same day that Tyler's split with Rachel Recchia was shown on 'The Bachelorette.' This happened on August 22, fewer than two months after Paradise finished. Brittany appeared onstage after Tyler finished telling his side of the tale, and the two reconnected for the first time since their breakup.
"When we left Paradise together, I feel like our relationship was at an all-time high," she said. "I don’t know, I just feel like I slowly kind of didn’t feel the same way. I just didn’t really know how to articulate my thoughts and feelings in a way that wasn’t going to hurt you. I didn’t want to waste my time and energy, and I really didn’t want to waste yours on something I didn’t feel confident in."
Brittany stated that she requested a break from Tyler, but he did not provide her with the space she required. "Within two hours you were Snapchatting me and in for hours you were DMing me and 12 hours later you asked if we could talk," she explained. “That’s what frustrated me the most…it was too much.”
Tyler criticized Brittany for not "being straight" with him when she felt he wasn't her type, but she mistakenly believed she had. Finally, she stated that there was a miscommunication on both of their sides. On the beach, she claimed that everything she felt for Tyler was genuine and that she "100%" loved him. Tyler was still plainly agitated. "You broke up with me and I hadn’t heard a word from you," he retorted. "If you love somebody, you check up on them and see how they’re doing. That’s all I gotta say."
Bachelor Nation was too shocked and heartbroken to hear when Brittany chose to call it off with Tyler, "BRITTANY BROKE UP WITH TYLER OVER FACE TIME ON THE SAME DAY RACHEL DUMPED HIM ON TV???" Defending Brittany's choice of not being together with Tyler, a fan wrote, "How did no one get from Tyler and Brittany’s convo that he was overbearing and didn’t respect her boundaries and space?? That’s what she was saying." On the other hand, a fan threw shade on Brittany as they tweeted, "Brittany was obviously in it for the likes and IG fame." A fan-turned-hater joined the thread as they write, "No longer a Brittany fan. Yuck. Spilling on intimate details re: calling, texting her was fcked up. That’s not nice. AT ALL."

Calling out Brittany for her personality switch, a viewer wrote, "#Brittany straight up had a personality change. She went from being super sweet on #BachelorInParadise to now being cold & acting like she can’t be bothered to even care about #Tyler. That sucks!" While another fan didn't find much fault in her as they tweeted, "Brittany and Tyler are a good example of if you don't tell men straight up exactly what you're thinking, they will NOT know. They can't take a hint." Some fans also struggled to choose side, "I don’t know who to believe between Tyler and Brittany." One fan quipped how Rachel in the crowd might be reacting to the breakup, "Rachel in the audience hearing this Brittany and Tyler stuff."
