Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark/Iron Man was the character that started it all for the MCU in 2008. When Stark sacrificed himself in 'Avengers: Endgame'to save the world from Thanos (Josh Brolin), it plunged Marvel fans into major grief.

The Russo Brothers took to live-tweeting some BTS and tearjerking moments from the film during Comicbook's 'Avengers: Endgame' Quarantine Watch Party and one of it was Downey's last day on set as Stark/Iron Man.

The Russos shared a clip on Twitter that saw the actor hugging the crew of the film including Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, with the caption reading: "Downey's last day on set after shooting the 'I am Iron Man' moment. The very definition of a legend. We love this man 3000. @RobertDowneyJr #AvengersAssemble."

And that's all it took for fans to fondly remember their favorite character in the MCU. "Forever in our hearts #loveyou3000," tweeted a fan. "When Peter says 'Mr Stark' I bawl every time #avengersassemble," said another.

"Ohh god stop making me cry #QuarantineWatchParty #AvengersAssemble," wrote a fan. "So much emotion there. Thanks for the years of entertainment," read one of the tweets. "No one and I mean NO ONE could've played this part better than RDJ himself," declared a fan.

"A part of Me died when Tony died," shared a fan. "If he had to leave, saving the universe was the best way possible. Still wish it didn't happen though," explained one fan. "I'd love to see the BTS video of him doing that take... I rewatched Endgame yesterday and it still gives me chills," said a fan.

Downey starred as the titular character in the 'Iron Man' trilogy before reprising his role as in the four-part Avengers saga. He also appeared in cameos in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming.'

"'You can rest now.' Four words that will forever bring me to tears. What a beautiful scene, and extremely personal for anyone who has said something similar to a loved one in those last times together. #AvengersAssemble" tweeted a fan.

"And here I told the people I know I wasn't going to get emotional with this watch party..." read one of the tweets. "God this pulls at a few heartstrings," exclaimed a fan.
