Alexis Bledel confirms 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3' is on
Fans have been speculating for long about the next serving of 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants', and now actress Alexis Bledel has finally confirmed the news that the third installment in the series is in the works.
Speaking on the Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, Alexis said, "We just pitched the third movie. Yeah, we did! I really hope [we can do it]. I would love it. It would be the best thing."
The 36-year-old actress' announcement marks the first confirmation that the beloved franchise may introduce the next sequel.
As reported by ET, Bledel opened up about her love for film adaptations and said, "We want it to happen, I really hope so. It keeps kind of coming up and we’re really trying to make it happen. So, I really hope so. We don’t get to see each other a lot because everybody’s work or family and everything, but when everybody is in town we do, and we just pitched a third movie and I hope it comes together."
"It would be so great," Bledel added.
Her co-star Blake Lively also shared the same sentiment and said, "I think it could really happen. I think that people who love the movie want to see it. So, I mean, fans have gotten bigger movies made. Deadpool is all thanks to the fans. So I’m saying we’ll do it."
Bledel and Lively both starred in the original movie which was released in the year 2005 and also in the sequel which was released in the year 2008 alongside Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrera. The films have been based on the novel by Ann Brashares which has four sequels.
Bledel went on to add how reuniting with the on-screen ladies "would be the best thing" and the cast has remained friends even after the shooting of both part one and part two.
