Alex Murdaugh's beach house back on the market just months after it was sold during double murder trial
WALTERBORO, SOUTH CAROLINA: Alex Murdaugh and his late wife Maggie Murdaugh's beloved South Carolina beach house is under contract to be sold once again only a few months after being discreetly sold last summer, reports said. The disgraced lawyer sold the house on Edisto Island near Charleston along with his wife’s estate for $955,000 in July 2022.
It was at the same time Alex was arrested for being accused of killing both Maggie and his son Paul Murdaugh. Additionally, the house was sold less than a year after he was accused of filing a false police report, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and insurance fraud, reported the New York Post.

Who bought the house?
As per reports, Jon and Gayle Lancto, who live in Minnesota, purchased the beach house and listed it for sale in January for $1.18 million, less than six months after it was sold to them. A contract was made last month for the house. However, why the Lanctos are selling the getaway so fast is still a question. Alex and Maggie bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Cape Cod estate for $415,000 in 2002, according to documents. Prior to the tragic family being dogged by scandal, it was thought of as their second house and was used as a vacation destination.
What is so special about the house?
The listing refers to this as a "once in a lifetime opportunity," and the new owner will receive the house completely furnished with name-brand items. The fully renovated home, which is more than 2,300 square feet, has a sun deck, vaulted ceilings, wood flooring, a gourmet kitchen, and a wood-burning fireplace. According to the listing, the sunroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and is accessible from the living area, the main bedroom, and one of the guest bedrooms. The ground floor has a dressing area, a sink for fishing, storage spaces, and an enclosed shower for washing off sand after a day at the shore.
Who will buy the Murdaugh family's hunting farm?
Colleton County courthouse in Walterboro, South Carolina, sentenced Alex to 30 years of life in prison for double murder on Thursday, March 2. The victims were found fatally shot several times at the kennels of the family’s hunting estate in South Carolina’s Lowcountry on the night of June 7, 2021. The 1,700-acre farm is reportedly under contract, according to a different source, and will likely be sold soon after all of the family's possessions have been removed. "The new buyer is someone that has no connections with the family … none whatsoever," an insider said.
