'Aaron Hernandez: Life Inside': Release date, airtime, plot and all you need to know about docufilm on the NFL trailblazer
Aaron Josef Hernandez was one of the most dominant names in the National Football League (NFL) and was picked up by The New England Patriots in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. However, his playing career was short-lived because he was arrested and charged for the murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional player who was dating Hernandez’s fiancée.
The series, titled ‘Aaron Hernandez: Life Insider’, will revolve around his NFL career, his family, and how fans admired him for his game. But his life took a drastic u-turn when he was arrested and charged in the shooting of Lloyd. Hernandez was sent to Bristol County House of Correction and had a lot of discussions about his life with Sheriff Thomas Hodgson.

The documentary ‘Aaron Hernandez: Life Inside’ will premiere exclusively on Sunday, February 14, at 10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT on Reelz Channel.
Plot
The film focuses on the late NFL player Aaron Hernandez and his life after joining The New England Patriots in 2010. The official synopsis reads: “Aaron Hernandez once seemingly had it all. A multi-million dollar NFL career with the New England Patriots, a beautiful fiancée, a young daughter, and the admiration of fans. But by 2013, his life had become a far cry from its soaring highs as Hernandez had become an inmate at Bristol County House of Correction while awaiting trial in the shooting death of friend Odin Lloyd. It was here that Hernandez and Sheriff Thomas Hodgson had many discussions about life and Hernandez began sharing secrets about himself few others knew.”

Aaron Hernandez
Born on November 6, 1989, Aaron Josef Hernandez was an American football tight end. During his childhood, he endured a lot of abuse from his father and the beatings he received were sometimes alcohol-related. His father died when he was 16 and was greatly affected by his father's demise. In high school, he started playing football and took a liking to it. As a senior, he was also named the Connecticut Player of the Year for his exceptional performance.
After performing exceptionally in his younger years and college, he was selected by The New England Patriots and formed one of the league's most dominant tight-end duos with Rob Gronkowski.
Hernandez quickly became one of the top names in the game and his popularity reached greater heights. However, everything came crashing down when he was arrested and charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd. On April 15, 2015, Hernandez was found guilty of murder in the first degree and sentenced to spend life in prison without a possibility of parole. In prison, Hernandez committed suicide on April 19, 2017, at the age of 27.
