'Biography: 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper' premieres on A&E on Sunday, April 25 at 8 pm ET/PT. The rest of the specials air on subsequent Sundays until June 6.
What to expect?
'Biography' will air two-hour episodes devoted to each of the following WWE Superstars over the next eight Sundays: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Ultimate Warrior, and Bret "the Hitman" Hart. The documentary on Roddy Piper is the second installment in the series. The first WWE 'Biography' special aired on April 18 and was dedicated to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
Former WWE champion Ronda Rousey is expected to appear in the documentary, recalling when she got the "blessing" from Roddy Piper to use his "Rowdy" namesake. "It's surreal being here without him," the groundbreaking MMA star said of being at the tournament in the clip, according to People.
"When I first started doing MMA I was trying to think of a fight name and of course the first thing that everybody thought of was like 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey," she said. "And it's like I know, but it's like, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper already has that and I don't want to steal it." "Until I happened to see the 'Rowdy' one and got his blessing and he was very sweet about it," she added. "He was like, 'Sure kid, no problem. Better do the name proud' or something like that."
