'18 Regali' (translated '18 Presents' in English) is an Italian movie that chronicles this tragic, highly emotional story. Here is everything you need to know about the movie that's coming to Netflix.

'18 Regali' or '18 Presents' will premiere on Netflix on Friday, May 8, 2020. 

Plot

The official synopsis states: "A pregnant mother with terminal cancer leaves behind 18 sentimental gifts for her unborn daughter to receive every birthday until she reaches womanhood."

The Italian actress plays the role of Elisa, the mother who upon discovering her fate, prepares for 18 presents for her daughter. Puccini is known for her role in 'Elisa di Rivombrosa' and 'Il Processo'.

Benedetta Porcaroli as Anna

Benedetta plays the role of Anna, Elisa's daughter who receives a gift every year on her birthday. The actress is best known for her role as Chiara Altieri in the Netflix series 'Baby'.

The award-winning Italian actor, director and screenwriter plays the role of Elisa's husband and Anna's father. He is best known for writing and directing '18 Years Later', which earned him a nomination at David di Donatello for Best New Director and a nomination for a Nastro d'Argento in the same category. His movie 'The Legendary Giulia and Other Miracles' won the David di Donatello of the Youth and the Nastro d'Argento for the best comedy film.

Creators

'18 Regali' is written and directed by Francesco Amato, who is known for 'Cosimo and Nicole', 'Let Yourself Go', 'What the Hell Am I Doing Here?' and 'Figlio di penna'. Massimo Gaudioso, Davide Lantieri and Alessio Vicenzotto also serve as writers.
