Nashville boy, 14, who recklessly drove stolen school bus, hit a fuel pump and tried to run over a person arrested
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: A 14-year-old teenager was arrested after he drove a stolen school bus on a highway in Nashville in a dangerous spree where he allegedly tried to run over a person after he hit a diesel fuel pump. While the suspect tried to avoid spike strips on a major interstate highway by turning the bus around, the cops managed to break into the bus through the window and Tase him.
According to Nashville Police, the dangerous incident began when the boy whose name has not been disclosed stole a bus from Kipp College Prep in the Antioch neighborhood in Nashville, reported New York Post.

Teenager drove the school bus at 60 miles per hour
The young joyrider turned onto Briley Parkway for nine miles after he drove seven miles north on Murfreesboro Pike. He then drove across the city and drove the vehicle into a diesel fuel pump at the gas station where he took a halt. According to the police, he allegedly tried to run over a customer and merged onto I-40 West where he then hit a car.
The suspect then drove nearly ten miles on the highway at speeds of 60 to 65 miles an hour. He then noticed police setting up a spike strip on the interstate in an attempt to slow him down, stated the officials, according to the outlet.
What are the charges against the teen suspect?
To avoid the strips, the suspect tried turning around in the middle of the road and attempted to drive against traffic. Police then ran up to the vehicle and broke into the bus after they smashed the glass door. They then Tased the suspect who kept continuing to try to drive the vehicle. He was gradually caught and taken into custody, as per the press release.

Online tracking of the suspect's route showed that he had driven the stolen bus for nearly 25 miles. The teenager who was arrested on the highway is currently being held in juvenile detention. The 14-year-old faces multiple charges including reckless driving, evading arrest, vehicle theft, driving without a license, aggravated assault, failure to report a crash, and leaving the scene of a crash, reported New York Post.
