CULLMAN COUNTY, ALABAMA: A young boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by a pair using an object. The couple also allegedly cut the victim’s genitals with a knife. Amy Nicole Lovell and Justin Anthony Jeffries Jr. are facing charges for sexually abusing and torturing a child under the age of 12, police said. However, the relationship between the child and the pair is not known though.

According to the Cullman County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Lovell and Jeffries, 26, was arrested on May 22 for allegedly committing the crimes. In a statement, the officials said that after a "short investigation," they discovered that the pair had committed "multiple sex crimes" to the child. Apart from this, the Sheriff's Office reportedly did not release any other details on the alleged crimes due to the "graphic nature" and also because of the involvement of a kid.

Meanwhile, court documents revealed that Lovell and Jeffries sexually abused and tortured the young boy with an inanimate object. The records also accused the pair of cutting the child’s genitals with a knife.

The suspected pair has been charged with aggravated child abuse, sexual torture, sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, and second-degree assault. In addition, Jeffries also faces one additional count of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. As per the court records, at the time of his arrest, he was already facing four counts of child sex abuse involving a different victim. However, his bond was reportedly revoked in those cases amid the new child sex abuse allegations against him.

The suspects were arrested after an investigation was reportedly done by sheriff’s investigators with the assistance of Cullman County Department of Human Resources, the Cullman Advocacy Center, and the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office. The authorities and court documents revealed that Jeffries fled to Oregon to avoid arrest, but was arrested by the Canby Police Department and was being sent to Cullman County Detention Center in Alabama. Meanwhile, his partner Lovell is currently out on bond, reports said.

In a similar incident, a man was jailed after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a young girl and used weapons on her and a boy in “punishment beatings”. His wife was also sentenced to jail for physically assaulting both children and encouraging her husband for the crime. Shola Ogundare was given 15 years in jail while his wife Olwafunmilayo Emmanuel was sentenced for four years following a trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, in England.

During the trial, Judge John Potter described Ogundare’s behavior as “repeated, callous acts designed by you to demean and control” the young victims. The judge said the pedophile used the girl as “nothing more than an object with which you could gratify your shocking and perverted sexual desires”. While in the case of the underage boy, he forced him into a “stress position”, kneeling down with his hands in the air for several minutes, and if the child did not comply, Ogundare used to beat him.
