American rapper, singer-songwriter YoungBoy Never Broke Again has announced on April 10 that we can expect some new music. Titled '38 Baby 2', the new record will follow his breakout project, the mixtape '38 Baby' which released in 2016. '38 Baby 2' is releasing on Friday, April 24.

The rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, shared the news in a 50-second teaser showing fast-paced clips of his superstar lifestyle, including signing autographs and entering onto the stage to screaming crowds and more.

Gaulden's success mainly came through his singles and mixtapes after he garnered a cult following when he released eight independent mixtapes between 2015 and 2017. He signed with Atlantic Records in 2017 and distributed additional mixtapes including 'Mind of a Menace 3: Reloaded', 'A.I. YoungBoy', and 'Ain't Too Long' before he released his highest-charting solo single 'Outside Today' in January 2018. The track peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was also the lead single for 'Until Death Call My Name', his debut studio album which released in April 2018.

One of his most notable achievements probably comes from the single 'Bandit' and the mixtape 'AI YoungBoy 2': On 'Bandit he worked with Juice WRLD and the song became his highest-charting single and his first top ten song after it peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. 'AI YoungBoy 2', which includes the singles 'Self Control', 'Slime Mentality' and 'Make No Sense', became YoungBoy's first chart-topper when it peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2019.

Many fans on Twitter were quick to comment on the news. Numerous comments included labeling the rapper as "GOAT" or using goat emojis. Just to be clear, the term "GOAT"  became popular in the '90s-early-2000s hip-hop scene. It was used primarily for those who are the greatest of all time in their field.  "WE BEEN WAITING SINCE 2016 AND NOW ITS FINALLY COMING!!!" wrote a fan while another says, "You never disappoint. You’re the greatest. So blessed." Several comments described him as the "most consistent rapper". One fans says, 'YB is one of the most consistent rappers I've ever seen. When he says something will drop it actually drops on that day. He never let's fans down music wise and I love that." Another fan says, "This finna break the internet."

Just two months ago, YoungBoy released a mixtape titled 'Still Flexin, Still Steppin', which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated March 6, 2020.
