There is little reason to really rejoice about a fourth season for 'Yellowstone' since Paramount had announced the renewal for Season 4 even before Season 3 premiered on television. But after a finale like that, leaving viewers anxious and full of emotions, the wait for the next season becomes an even more tedious affair.

While many actors have taken to their Instagram to share carefully chosen images of behind-the-scenes on the sets for Season 4, there are very few official details out so far. Here's everything you need to know about Season 4. Stay tuned as MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) will keep updating this story.

Release date

With Season 3 just concluding on Paramount Network, official release dates for Season 4 are a while away. At the same time, shooting and production has begun despite the pandemic so there's a good chance we'll see the Duttons this time next year in 2021.

Plot

Season 4 of 'Yellowstone' will continue the story forward from the events of Season 3.

The Paramount show tells the gritty story of a Montana family that finds itself and its generational land under threat from enemies. From land developers to builders to the Native American Reservation, everyone wants a piece (or all) of Yellowstone to themselves. But the Dutton patriarch John will do anything and everything to keep that from happening.

Cast

Kevin Costner as John Dutton

John Dutton (Paramount Network)

Costner plays the role of the Dutton patriarch who doesn't flinch before resorting to extreme methods to protect his land and his family. The actor is known for his work on 'Thirteen Days', '3000 Miles to Graceland', 'The Guardian', 'Draft Day' and more. Over his career, he has been rewarded with two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, one Primetime Emmy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton

Beth Dutton (Paramount Network)

Season 3 really put the focus on the shiniest star of 'Yellowstone', Beth Dutton. Reilly's character's back story is revealed and it had left audiences shocked. But she also finalized her love affair with Rip (Cole Hauser) - a couple made in Yellowstone heaven, if there's a place like that. The actress is known for her performance in 'After Miss Julie', a role that earned her a nomination for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress.

Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton

(Paramount Network)

While there wasn't enough focus on Kayce last season, his relationship with his wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille) keeps on developing. This season, the couple even decided on homeschooling their son Tate (Brecken Merrill). The actor is known for his work on 'American Sniper' and the 'Fifty Shades' series.

Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler

Rip Wheeler (Paramount Network)

This season Rip agrees to marry Beth and be the Dutton son-in-law. The season also brought Walker (Ryan Bingham) back who is likely to cause Rip trouble if he hasn't already. Hauser is known for his role in 'Pitch Black', 'Transcendence', '2 Fast 2 Furious', and 'A Good Day to Die Hard'.

Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton

Jamie Dutton (Paramount Network)

In Season 3, Jamie finds out that he is actually John's adopted son and his backstory, a rather sudden introduction to the show but one that some fans had long predicted, was also appreciated by audiences. It looks like it will be a matter of time that the Attorney General will lose his patience. Season 3 also revealed the reason behind the tumultuous relationship between Beth and Jamie. The actor is known for his role of Ricky Fitts in 'American Beauty', which earned him a nomination for a BAFTA Award for Supporting Actor,  he also played Seneca Crane in 'The Hunger Games', Doyle in 'Interstellar' and Eric in 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout'.

'Yellowstone' also stars Kelsey Asbille as Monica Dutton, Jefferson White as Jimmy Hurdstrom, Gil Birmingham as Chief Thomas Rainwater, Ian Bohen as Ryan, Forrie J. Smith as Lloyd Pierce, Jennifer Landon as Teeter, Denim Richards as Colby, Wendy Moniz as Governor Lynelle Perry, Ryan Bingham as Walker, Q'orianka Kilcher as Angela Blue Thunder, Karen Pittman as Willa Hayes, Eden Brolin as Mia, and Hassie Harrison as Laramie. In Season 4, we expect Katherine Cunningham to return as Christina since she was suspiciously away in Season 3.

Created by Taylor Sheridan

Sheridan wrote and directed 'Wind River' and wrote the sequel for 'Sicario', for which he was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay. For 'Hell or High Water', he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The movie was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture. In an exclusive interview with MEAWW, actor Ian Bohen, who plays the role of Ryan in the series, said that going forward from Season 3, Sheridan has written the show for the long run. As an actor, he reached prominence for his role of David Hale in 'Sons of Anarchy'.
