'Yellowstone' Season 3 Episode 1: Fans have some wild theories about Beth's love-hate relationship with Jamie

Just like fans watching the Season 3 premiere of Paramount's hit show 'Yellowstone', we too were glad to have the modern western series back on screen. 'Yellowstone' never told us what exactly it is that went wrong between Jamie and Beth (Wes Bentley and Kelly Reilly). Why is it that this brother-sister duo cannot seem to get over their mutual feelings of animosity and anger towards each other?
The underlying tensions between the two have never really been addressed on the show. So much so that the entire Dutton family — their father John (Kevin Costner) included — have no real idea of what had happened and only know that the two have several irreconcilable differences that stem from their mutual mistrust of each other.
Fans have long maintained that this could be somehow related to a pregnancy that Beth might have had when she was younger and still living on the ranch. According to that theory, Jamie might have been responsible for a miscarriage that Beth had or some other accident that led her to lose the child.
"Season 2 Episode 5 'Touching Your Enemy': Young Beth is staring at herself in the mirror, rubbing her belly. She then ties her overshirt as if hiding something. Of course, there's no way to know for sure until Season 3 gets underway, but I'd bet money there was a teen pregnancy (that Rip was not necessarily aware of) and Jamie had something to do with the loss of the baby," a fan theory suggested.
Another fan pointed out that there are more instances like this one. "You know near the end of the season one episode coming home, Beth stumbles upon John reading to Tate, then goes into her closet to scream and cry a death cry. Then there is the second season episode [8] 'Behind Us Only Grey', where she gets upset watching Rip and Tate. Makes you wonder."
At the same time, several fans are worried that the reveal might not be worth all the wait. "Anyone else feel the BIG REVEAL of why Beth Loathes Jamie with the heat of a zillion stars won't come anywhere close to living up to the hype/buildup?" On the other hand, many fear they might have to wait for even longer. "I bet we don't find out the truth until the penultimate episode or even the finale. Gonna make us wait even longer than the 2 years already haha."
