LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 2021, Showtime stunned the world with its riveting thriller series ‘Yellowjackets’ and garnered universal acclaim. However, the first edition ended with a massive cliffhanger, and fans have since been waiting for the second season to arrive. For many weeks now, we have been getting updates about the upcoming season, but there’s nothing better than a trailer, and fans have got what they deserved. Showtime has released a teaser trailer for the second season of ‘Yellowjackets’ and viewers should get ready to sleep with their lights on because things are getting scarier for everyone.

The teaser released by the network starts with a distressed Natalie (Juliette Davis) deciding to begin regression therapy to get access to some of the buried memories of the traumatic events she lived through after the plane crash. The therapist asks her, “What do you see?” to which, Natalie replies, “Darkness. We brought it back with us.” The clip continues with a glimpse of all the major characters trying to live their lives after what happened in Season One of the show.

The teaser also shows Misty (Christina Ricci) sitting on the floor and crying after something bad has happened to her. She tries stopping herself from crying, but is unable to do so and cries even harder. In between all these scenes, we get to see gritty sequences of the place totally covered in snow which gives a feeling that something tragic is going to take place really soon. Surprisingly, Season 2 will also feature a younger version of Misty that will give viewers an idea about her troubled childhood. In the final few moments of the teaser, all the major characters found themselves in situations that force them to pick up weapons.

The clip ends with the introduction of Elijah Wood’s character Walter, a citizen detective, talking to Misty about “kidnappings, cults, death, and friendships” being a “little more complicated than most.”

The teaser is filled with anxious moments and also features Melanie Lynskey ready for a right. However, it seems the second season will focus more on cults and kidnappings plaguing the area.

The series received universal acclaim from critics as well as audiences and garnered seven nominations at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards. On the other hand, Lynskey won Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
