Naked woman arrested walking down street with teen daughter's severed head, neighbors say she was a 'loving mom'

Neighbors of a Ukrainian woman, who was found walking naked in the streets with the severed head of her teenage daughter, has described her as a "loving mother" and a good parent who adored her child. Police are now investigating the case involving Tatiana Pyanova, from Kharkiv city, accused of murdering her 13-year-old daughter Kristina.

The 38-year-old mother was detained on Friday morning, May 1, after she was found walking naked in the streets. She was reportedly carrying a knife in one hand and a plastic bag containing the head of her teenage daughter in the other.

According to reports, when officials went to arrest her, Pyanova threatened them with the knife. “When they arrived at the scene, police found a citizen in an inadequate condition. In one hand she held a knife, in the other a package containing a severed female head. The woman refused to explain anything to police officers,” a law enforcement statement said.

Later, when she was taken to a court where she was remanded in custody pending a murder investigation, she seemed confused and denied her identity. The woman also told journalists that she did not want to communicate. She said, "leave me alone”.

Police were called after Pyanova’s brother Anton informed them that he had found the beheaded body of his niece in the house they shared. The 40-year-old from Podvirki village said her sister had a job as a cleaner and while the family was “poor”, the teen was not socially deprived. Locals also agreed with him as they said the family seemed “happy” and she was a “loving mother”.

When investigators responded to the scene, they found the decapitated body of Kristina who had 20 stab wounds. Reports also claimed that when the alleged crime happened last night, April 30, no one heard any strange noise coming out of the house. However, it was not clear if Anton was present in the house when Kristina is believed to have been murdered.

An unidentified woman, who claimed to be the teenager’s grandmother, said: “I don’t believe that Tatiana could do that, I don’t believe it. She is a great mother, she would move a mountain for her daughter. Something must have happened in the house. They must have drugged her or something, she couldn’t do that.”

A neighbor also claimed the same about Pyanova as he described her “normal” adding: “The girl was cheerful, good, went to school. What can I say?”

Reports claimed that the horrific incident has shocked the entire community as they said it was totally out of character. One member of the community said: “They went on holiday together and traveled for holidays and cooked for each other. Tatiana always attended all school events. The girl was cheerful, good, went to school."

While another one claimed that some “magic” has something to do with the alleged killing. “Sometimes people came to their house both from the village and from Kharkiv. I know that Tatiana seemed to be either engaged in magic or was a psychic." Other neighbors say that she sometimes performed some rituals.

However, that claim was later refuted by others who also knew the woman.
