MORRIS STREET/ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA: Three women were viciously assaulted in an unprovoked attack by a man who police believe is a sexist ex-convict. The terrifying footage of a man arbitrarily attacking the women while they were walking on the 1200 block of Morris Street was caught on camera on Wednesday, June 15 in Philadelphia. Police believe Malcolm White, 36 - who was arrested on a separate incident on Thursday - is the perpetrator of the horrendous attack.

As seen in the video, the man approached three women on the street and began assaulting them. According to authorities, one victim had a broken nose, while the others had lacerations and swollen lips. The brutal assault has terrified residents in the vicinity. "It's disgusting and it wasn't even late...people want to go have dinner and have a good time and they have to worry about walking home and get beat up," Karen DiOrio stated to 6ABC news. According to the news outlet, Rick Ames heard cries and assumed a lady had been raped. He approached the scene as his wife dialed 911. "I didn't know if he had a gun, so I just stopped," said Ames.

Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Frank Vanore stated at a press conference on Friday, June 17 that the suspect's motive is unknown. The attacks are thought to have been completely coincidental, and there is no evidence that any of the victims knew the attacker. "He made some utterances, they didn't make sense. We don't know what he was trying to say. Then he left the area and fled on foot," said Vanore.

One of the victims, Noelle Liquori, claimed that she was waiting for her boyfriend to arrive home from work in the 1900 block of 13th Street when the man attacked her. "Seemingly out of nowhere. The first hit came from behind. He hit me in the ear, put me down, and punched me in the face a couple of times," she said. "The last thing I remember I was being dragged on my back. He had my feet, dragging me down the pavement. I kept kicking him and screaming to get someone's attention," she further added to 6ABC News. Liquori claimed she passed out after that.

On Thursday morning in Philadelphia's Roxborough area, another woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man matching a similar description to White while walking to work on the 6100 block of Ridge Avenue. A few hours later, at around 10 in the morning, another woman was also assaulted in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County. Shortly after that incident, Whitpain Township police caught Malcolm White of Brooklyn, New York as he raced down the street after a carjacking. White is now detained in Montgomery County. Along with other crimes, he is accused of serious assault.

Although Philadelphia police have an arrest warrant for the man responsible for the sexual assault in Roxborough, they still need more proof to link him to the attacks in South Philadelphia. "He is definitely our suspect in the sexual assault because we have an approved warrant. The other two we have work to do to connect him," Vanore stated to 6ABC.

According to WST Post, police think White is behind the string of assaults. He was released from prison in January, according to law enforcement authorities, and has a history of attacking female prison guards in New York.

After serving a 12-year term for drug and assault-related offenses, White had been freed from the Clinton County Jail. White was imprisoned in 2010 for allegedly smuggling heroin and crack cocaine between New York City and North Country, Pennsylvania. He allegedly bit and punched a guard while she was escorting him from his cell. He was then accused of attacking four more jail staff. White only received a 12-year prison term as part of a plea agreement, despite the brutal attacks. He was recently released from jail, police claimed.
