A woman and her brother-in-law have been banned from owning an animal for two years and let off with a fine after they left their seven dogs without adequate food, water or bedding.
During an appearance in Cairns Magistrates Court on Thursday, Caterina Armanelli pleaded guilty to failing to provide adequate care for Brownie, her female Rhodesian ridgeback, Demon, her brother-in-law's male Siberian husky, and their five puppies, Daily Mail reports.
According to The Cairns Post, Armanelli's brother-in-law Adam Manfield was also convicted. However, being a fly-in fly-out worker, he didn't attend court.
