Will there be ‘Tell Me Lies’ Season 4? Creator drops huge update just hours before premiere
Hulu's hit romance series 'Tell Me Lies' Season 3 has been grabbing major attention for its messy, chaotic love story, but it is the end of the road for Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco's (Jackson White) tumultuous romance. Created by Meaghan Oppenheimer, Lucy and Stephen's on-again, off-again relationship keeps social media flooded with fan theories and debates. However, it now looks like the series is set to end with Season 3, as Oppenheimer recently dropped a surprising update about the show's future, and it's something fans didn't see coming.
In an Instagram post, Oppenheimer confirmed that 'Tell Me Lies' will end with Season 3 and will not return for a fourth season. Announcing the news ahead of the Season 3 finale, Oppenheimer wrote, "After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight's episode will be the series finale." She added, "This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it." Oppenheimer further explained why the team ultimately chose to stop, saying, "Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion."
She further added, "My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you. And so, while it is bittersweet to leave something that has been such a happy experience, I am very grateful that we are able to tell a complete story with an intentional ending—a privilege very few shows get. Thank you for loving our show. We are excited to bring you more stories in the near future." As soon as Oppenheimer made the announcement, fans flooded Instagram with their reactions, with one writing, "Watching this show gain its audience and becoming so insanely popular was just the best!," while another added, "Can't wait to see how it’s going to end, but ngl, I am going to miss the show."
A fan noted, "The fact that this was dropped on us at 9 pm is giving Stephen DeMarco level toxic," while another wrote, "It’s not too late to change your mind, I’m begging." A fan commented, "This made me feel how I would imagine Lucy feels when she reads a text from Stephen." Meanwhile, another remarked, "NOOOOO! Omg this whole time I’ve been like there’s gotta be another season bc they keep saying season finale instead of series finale, damnit!!!!" The highly anticipated Season 3 finale is set to premiere on Monday, February 16, at 9 pm PT / 12 am ET on Hulu. The series is available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
